Avant-Garde is a French term that describes the advance party of the army. Since the 19th century, it’s also been used to refer to the innovative approaches that challenge existing ideas and processes in different art forms. Here at Avant- Garde Media, we believe in bringing the same “avant-garde” spirit of originality, creativity and sensitivity into the visual stories we tell.
Avant-Garde Media is created by two experienced media practitioners who understand how to connect the Chinese market to the world and the world to China. We take pride in producing arresting, engaging and impressive visual narratives that resonate domestically and internationally.

His ability to interpret stories, his drive for excellence and a close attention to detail has made him an award- winning filmmaker.
Yan Zixin
A passionate and effectively bilingual storyteller. This multiple award-winning writer/producer and director is always full of new ideas. Her strength lies in her ability to see a story in the most mundane and turning it into a powerful and convincing visual narrative. Her portfolio of works rates highly domestically and internationally.
